Acceleration system-It is the rate of change of velocity .For constant velocity ,acceleration is zero.

Accelerator -Pedal in a motor vehicle two wheeler, four wheeler, three wheeler which control the power and speed ,by acting on the throttle valve and thereby regulating the mixture of air and petrol entering the engine.

Accelerometer:-Instrument used for measuring acceleration is called accelerometer.

Accurate:-without error within tolerance allowed, precise,
correct ,conforming exactly to standard.

Adapter:-Appliance by mean of which objects of different size
will interchange on a spindle or other fitting.

Air cleaner:-Filtering device which extracts dust and grit from the air entering any mechanism.

Air-chuck:-Pneumatically operated chuck used to grip work in a machine tool. A mechanical safety device is generally incorporated to prevent the chuck releasing the work if the air pressure should fail.

Air-conditioner:-A device used to control the temperature,
humidity, cleanliness and movement of air inside a room or 
a car.

Allowance:-It is prescribed difference between the high limit for a shaft and the low limit for hole in order to provide a certain class of fit.

Actinometer:-Actinometer is the measuring the intensity of solar ray.

Accumulator:-An accumulator is an instrument that consists of a heavily weighted tank, which is raised by means of a pump, there by storing up energy to be utilised as required, by its descent.

Accurate:-Without error within tolerances allowed, precise, correct,
confirming exactly to standard.

Advance:-In an internal combustion engine cylinder, when the timing of ignition is altered to cause the spark in the cylinder to pass at an earlier point, there occurs advance.

Reheater:-A combustion chamber into which fuel is injected for the purpose of reheating the hot exhaust gases, which cause developing increase thrust.  

Alternating Current:-Current of electricity which is reversed from 25 to 60 times per second ,with change of pressure.

Alternator:-An electrical generator that producers alternating current .
